This includes design of piles and shallow foundations, retaining walls. Ground improvement (soil nails, ground anchors, basal reinforcement) and earth works (rock-fill and earth-fill embankments).

He also has an extensive experimental knowledge conducting laboratory and field tests providing a complete analysis to engineering problems. He has several international journal publications and presentations at world-wide symposiums in the field of geo-engineering.

George has obtained several awards and grants including Technical Excellence Award for design and construction supervision, ARC Research Grant to “Improve interaction of Footings installed near disturbed seabed surfaces” and Research Scholarships.  He has written several publications, dissertations and internal reports. In 2004, George was invited to present a seminar at the Civil and Offshore Engineering Department at the National University of Singapore, leading onto further technical seminar presentations in Greece, Norway and Switzerland.
